Bangers and Mash with Onion Gravy

Ingredients:
- 6 pork sausages (about 400g)
- 600g potatoes, peeled and chopped
- 200ml milk
- 50g butter
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons plain flour
- 500ml beef stock
- Salt and pepper to taste
Kitchen Tools Needed:
- Large frying pan
- Pot for boiling potatoes
- Masher
- Wooden spoon
- Measuring jug
Instructions:
- Boil the potatoes in salted water for about 15 minutes until tender.
- While the potatoes are cooking, heat the olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat and add the sausages. Cook for about 10-12 minutes until browned and cooked through, turning occasionally.
- Remove the sausages from the pan and set aside. In the same pan, add the sliced onions and cook for about 5 minutes until softened.
- Sprinkle the flour over the onions and stir well, cooking for another minute.
- Gradually add the beef stock, stirring constantly until the gravy thickens. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the butter and milk, then mash until smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
- Serve the sausages on a bed of mashed potatoes, topped with the onion gravy.
